Intermediate News - 4th Grade

Welcome to 4th grade and the start of remote learning! While this is not how we would like the year to start, we are committed to making the school experience a positive one. As a result, fourth graders will begin the year with some “community building activities” before diving into the grade level curriculum. We are excited to learn more about our students!

In Envision Math, students will be able to use a blend of textbook and online resources. Our first two topics will be a review of place value and addition and subtraction concepts. In the subject area of reading, we will begin the year using the Reach for Reading anthology. Fourth graders will talk about their reading, write about their  understanding of topics read, and continue to develop reading skills and strategies. Students will begin the year writing a realistic narrative piece. This instruction will be a blend of teacher-directed mini-lessons and individual practice. In a few weeks, we will begin a more focused study of Colorado history.

Thank you for sharing your children with us and supporting their learning.
