I’m excited to be back for my fourth year at Bacon as school psychologist, even as I bemoan the lack of small footsteps and playground squeals around the building. As school psychologist at Bacon, my time is spent
working with teachers, students, and parents to create interventions and supports for students who may struggle with emotional regulation, social skills, organizational skills, etc. I also help guide the special education evaluation and IEP writing process for students with disabilities. I try my best to follow the Bacon motto to Make It Count For ALL Learners.
These are bewildering times to be sure (is anyone else as tired of the word “unprecedented” as I am?), and we are all entering this new school year full of various emotions. Wherever you are as we enter this school year, whether you are finishing up the final touches on your child’s home school work space or reading over your child’s daily schedule for the 18th time and asking yourself, “Wait, what is BLT time again?” we see you and we hear you! Parents of students with IEPs, please know that I’m available to talk with you about concerns you may have about your child’s social and emotional health. You can reach me at (970) 488-5339, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hello Bacon Families,
I am thrilled to be beginning a new chapter in my career as your Bacon School Counselor, and a Colorado resident! My family and I recently moved to Fort Collins from the Bay Area in California, where I have spent the last 17 years as a counselor, educator, and coach. So far we are loving every minute in Colorado and are excited to raise our family here!As I settle into my office, I am excited to begin connecting with families and
becoming part of the Bacon community. As a School Counselor, my time is spent collaborating with teachers, administrators and families to participate in your child's learning by teaching students to achieve success through small groups, one on one counseling and classroom activities. I also work to identify academic and socioemotional needs in order to facilitate building successful interventions to remove barriers and help every student find success in elementary school. I am also the 504 coordinator on site, and enjoy being part of the 504 process that provides accommodations for students who are currently on, or may need to be evaluated for a 504 plan.
I know this time is the perfect blend of exciting, overwhelming, and chaotic, so my advice to you is to take a deep breath and remember we are all in this together, and will do best when we work as a team! Please feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com.
