From the Desk of Mr. Horky

Dear Bacon Community,

Happy New Year! During the past months, we’ve reflected, looked forward, cried, and laughed. When we flipped the calendar on January 1st…it’s the day many of us have been looking forward to for many months. We don’t know what’s in store but I know our school com- munity is strong and we have proven we can do hard things.  I have no doubt everyone will do their part to make it count for all Bacon Bulldogs in 2021!

January is always exciting as we have a chance to welcome new Bulldogs as part of Kindergarten Information Night and registration. Unfortunately, we will not be able to gather for the traditional Kindergarten Information Night but we are so excited to share our information virtually through our newly created 2021-22 Bacon Kindergarten webpage. This, along with many other things, are examples of innovative ways of thinking as a result of COVID-19. Enjoy it and share it with other parents who may have a class of 2034 student starting kindergarten in the fall.

Finally, I would like to introduce you to Mrs. Katie Hochhalter, our new Office Manager. Needless to say, we will miss Mrs. Lanter A LOT but are excited for Mrs.Hochhalter to join the team. Below you will find a note from Katie sharing her excitement to join our amazing school community.

Again, Happy New Year, I wish everyone a joyous and safe 2021!

Mr. Horky

Hi Bacon Families!

I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as your new Office Manager. I cannot even tell you the incredible things I’ve heard about the amazing Bacon community. I am so happy I get to be a part of it.

My family and I have lived in Fort Collins for just one year but we’ve already fallen for this wonderful town; we’re thrilled to make it our permanent home. Before this, we were stationed at Maxwell AFB in Alabama where we became die-hard Bama fans. My husband Dan is in the Air Force and currently works for the Wyoming ANG in Cheyenne. We have four
kids-- two boys at Preston and two girls currently at Werner. We are social
butterflies, so please introduce yourselves and let us get to know you!

Mrs. Lanter will certainly be missed, but she’s told me great things about the gracious and kind families here at Bacon so I know I’ll feel at ease right away. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

Gratefully,
Katie Hochhalter (Pronounced Hoke-Halter)
