Counselor's Office

This past month, our Bacon Bulldogs have had lessons on empathy, assertiveness, and understanding differences during their SEL (socioemotional learning) time. In third through fifth grade they went a step further and learned how to not only understand differences, but also to respect one another's perspectives! Lastly our students have learned what it is to be mindful, and have enjoyed time in their day to calmly sit with their feelings, and thoughts, to acknowledge what’s going on around them and ground them for the rest of their day. This week in SEL, Bacon students will have their first lesson on Bullying. They will be learning what the 3 R’s mean and how to be an upstander, by Recognizing, Refusing, and Reporting if they or another student is being bullied. It would be great for you to talk to your students about this lesson this week and see if they can remember the 3 R’s!  As we near the holidays, there are an overwhelming number of resources available to families in Fort Collins who are in need of warm clothes, food, holiday gifts for their children, or other basic needs. Please feel free to email me directly if I can help your family connect with these resources. It is truly my pleasure to support Bacon families.
