My career has brought me to incredible schools across the Front Range, all with a unique set of challenges and achievements. I got my start teaching special education emphasizing in reading and behavior in Keenesburg after graduating from The University of Northern Colorado in 2006. Once I got my feet wet in the Education world, I taught Special Education at Estes Park Elementary school for two years, and worked as the Director of Student Services at Estes Park Schools, organizing federal grants and creating Special Education programming for students identified as Gifted and Talented. In my time in Estes Park, I also served as Assistant Principal, helping teachers create meaningful outcomes for students. In 2014 I joined Centennial BOCES as Assistant Director of Special Education, supporting 10 school districts in Weld and Morgan Counties with improving their curriculum and instructional practices. After settling in Fort Collins, I served as a district Integrated Services Coordinator at Central Office, serving the Fossil Feeder zone. This afforded me the chance to meet and work with the students, staff and parents of Bacon Elementary.
In my free time, my husband and I tend to our small hobby farm at our home near Old Town. We raise vegetables, bees, and a small flock of chickens (including the "Best Dressed" chicken in all of Fort Collins, Felicia Fancy Feet). I love learning about sustainable agriculture and food! Growing up in Alaska taught me how important it is to stay connected to our environment. I hike, swim, bike, camp, and explore our beautiful Colorado backyard as often as possible
It's been a few years since I have been able to call a school "Home". I can't wait to get to know you and your kiddos! I'm can't wait to be a part of aiding teachers in positively impacting achievement, and creating meaningful outcomes for all. Thank you for sharing your children with us!
I was born in Achorage, Alaska making me a Sourdough(born as raised in Alaska). My parents were teachers and traveled around the state. Many rural towns were home but Craig, Alaska located on the Inside Passage was my longest home.
