About Me
Biographical Sketch:

I have been teaching at Bacon since it opened in 2003. Before teaching at Bacon, I taught at Timnath Elementary for 2 years after teaching in Greeley for 1 year. It is an honor to teach at a school where the students and families come first. I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a young age. You know when you see football players cry and celebrate when they win the SuperBowl because all of their dreams have come true? That is how I felt the day I was hired to work as a teacher in PSD. Teaching is my passion, and I am confident in saying that this is what I was meant to do!
My husband and I have 3 kids. Everett is our oldest, and Makenzi and Logan are our twins. All three kids attend Fossil Ridge High school here in Fort Collins.

College:

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado many, many years ago!

Why I enjoy teaching:

There are so many things that I love about teaching! I enjoy the family that is created in our classroom. I enjoy watching our special needs students feel loved and respected by their classmates. I enjoy watching students create goals for themselves and celebrating with them when they have succeeded. I enjoy bragging to parents about how great their children are. I enjoy encouraging my students to reach their full potential. I enjoy listening to conversations as students work together to solve challenging problems. I enjoy laughing with my students. I enjoy watching a student who struggles socially make a new friend. I enjoy celebrating important milestones with my students. I enjoy watching my students being engaged in lessons and having fun learning. I enjoy working and communicating with parents about their child. I enjoy listening and helping students through difficult times. I enjoy making a student smile when they are having a hard day. I enjoy it when my students get excited about a field trip, holiday, or birthday. I enjoy the happiness I feel when my students have created and reached a goal that perhaps they thought they could never reach. I enjoy my life as a teacher!

What I like most about my school:

What I enjoy most about Bacon is the feeling you get when you walk into the building. It is a welcoming feeling where all teachers value and love their students. I feel blessed to work with, in my opinion, the best teachers on Earth! We also have a very supportive parent community. They support our teachers, classrooms, and important events that happen throughout the year.

Interest & Hobbies:

I LOVE spending time with my family, reading, boating, swimming, watching my kids play sports, and laughing with friends.

My Favorite Book:

I simply cannot name one favorite book. Reading is one of my favorite things to do in my free time. I enjoyed reading, READING IN THE WILD because it gave me ideas and ways to help my students enjoy reading. It also helped me to prove to them how important reading is.
I will just say that I love to read and try to do so every chance I get! Nothing is better than reading a great book.

Something most people don't know about me:

Interesting fact...Our twins, Logan and Makenzi were born 10.5 months after Everett was.  That means for 1.5 months every year, our kids are the same age!
