Greetings from the computer lab! I am very excited to be sharing with you all of the wonderful learning that has been taking place in the world of technology at Bacon so far this year! After 17 years as a kindergarten and second grade classroom teacher (11 of those years right here as a Bulldog!) the opportunity to work with each and every student attending Bacon has been a fun and exciting change. The last six years have been a tremendous and wonderful learning curve for me and I am excited for the direction Bacon is headed in the world of digital learning. I firmly believe and have discussed with each class from kindergarten through fifth grade, technology is a tool for learning. In the words of author and educator David Warlick “We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.”

What I like most about teaching is the sense of wonder students bring to every experience. It is magical when curriculum connections meet childhood enthusiasm.
What I like most about Bacon Elementary is the amazing relationships among students, student and staff, and the wonderful and supportive staff and family community.
My hobbies and interests are reading, camping, walking my dog, listening to music, playing with my kids and spending time with my family and friends.
My favorite children's books are Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
